Posting a recording online is not necessarily a podcast. A podcast has to be episodic. It has to have an RSS feed.
Enhanced podcasts include pictures.
Garage Band can't do a podcast with video and pictures. If you are going to use both, use iMovie.

Some good examples (lnk later)
LOST podcast
bit by bit podcast
Mac tips daily (thinkmac.net)
KidCast
Fireside book chat

Some good uses
An art show (not all parents can attend the showcase)
Tech tips our teachers can use (notes from Everything Training session would be a good place for us to start)

Does our district have a place where we can upload podcasts yet?
Can use RSS feed in Wikispaces...

Garage Band
Create New > Podcast
Add voice in either track
Add jingles (can use Garage Band demo songs, or my own music from iTunes, etc.)
Use Podcast track to import pictures or video (one or the other)
Seems like there can be AutoTune, but only on entire track...
Share > Send to iTunes (for mp4, AAC encoding)
Drag file from iTunes to post it to a website, etc.
Share > Export song to disk (to save as an mp3 file)

Nothing covered about getting it ON iTunes... but http://livebinders.com might have some tips.
